Everything you need to know about WorthTheFee, how it works, and how we protect your data.
Getting Started
Learn the basics of WorthTheFee.
WorthTheFee answers one question: is your premium credit card worth its annual fee based on what you actually use? We start with values verified against issuer terms, show every string attached, and give you one honest verdict—Worth It, Watch It, or Cancel.
Run the WTF Check, pick your card, and tell us what you realistically expect to use. You’ll get one honest verdict in about 60 seconds—no signup required.
The WTF Check is free—every time. Free watches one card and includes every reminder: before credits reset, and before your annual fee returns. The one thing Free leaves out is statement scanning. Pro is the same one card with that exception removed—nothing is held back. Pro Unlimited is Pro with the card limit removed, for a whole wallet.
WTF Check
How the WTF Check works and what to expect.
We start with values verified against issuer terms and ask how much of each credit you realistically expect to use. That becomes Value You Use. Subtract the annual fee and you get Net Value—then one honest verdict: Worth It, Watch It, or Cancel.
Enter the amount you realistically expect to use over a year. If a $200 hotel credit is only worth $50 to you, enter $50—not $200. The brochure doesn't get a vote.
Net Value = Value You Use − Annual Fee. Lounge access, status, protections, and points are shown separately. They may matter to you, but they do not inflate your Net Value.

Privacy & Security
Your data, our policies, and your control.
Never. No bank login, no account aggregation, and no bank credentials. You add cards manually and confirm what counts.
No. We don’t use Plaid, MX, Finicity, or any other aggregator. Your bank credentials never enter our system because we never ask for them.
We store your email, cards you've added, benefit selections, and reminder settings. If you use statement scan, we may also retain scan metadata and matched transaction details needed for your results. We never ask for or store your bank credentials or full card number. You can delete your account from Settings.
Statement scans
Everything about statement uploads and AI scanning.
Your original PDF or CSV file is never uploaded — we extract its text in your browser. Up to 50,000 characters of that extracted text are then sent to our server and on to our AI provider, which identifies transactions that look like statement credits. That text can include merchant names, dates, and amounts. We do not store the original file or the full statement text, and nothing counts until you confirm it.
PDF statements from major issuers (Amex, Chase, Capital One, Citi, U.S. Bank), plus CSV exports.
Your original file is never uploaded, and we never ask for a bank login or full card number. The extracted text is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI provider to find matches, and is not used to train models. If you would rather no statement text leave your device, skip statement scan and enter credits manually — everything else works the same. Full sub-processor list is on our Privacy page.
Accuracy & Methodology
How we count, what we don’t, and why it matters.
Every value begins with the issuer's published terms. Auto-Counted value is included in your WTF Check with no selection required. Capturable value counts only when you select what you realistically expect to use. Earned value requires spending or qualifying activity, so include only what you realistically expect to earn.
We don't assign guessed dollar values to lounge access, status, protections, or points. We show those benefits separately. They may matter to you, but they do not inflate your Net Value.
Because their value is personal. A lounge visit is not worth the same amount to every cardholder. The moment we assign it a fantasy dollar value, we're doing the same math the banks do.
Because Available Credit Value is what may be available. Value You Use is what you realistically expect to use. The bank leads with the first number. Your WTF Check verdict is built on the second.
Every credit links to the issuer’s official terms. Don’t take our word for it — click through and check us. We dare you.
Account & Cancellation
Managing your account and subscription.
Manage your cards in My Wallet. Use Settings for reminders, billing, and account deletion. No hidden menus. No buried toggles.
Go to Settings → Billing → Cancel. You keep Pro through the end of the period you've paid for, then Free plan limits apply.
Canceling Pro does not delete your account. When paid access ends, Free plan limits apply. Deleting your account is a separate action in Settings.
